A beautiful day at Copper Mountain made for the perfect setting on the slopes of this Colorado snowboarding wedding! | Marah and Jesse
Marah and Jesse knew they wanted to include snowboarding as part of their elopement day. Jesse taught Marah how to snowboard and it has become a huge part of their relationship. Since it was Marah’s dream to snowboard in her wedding dress, it only made sense to them to get married and go snowboarding! So, I helped them plan the most beautiful Colorado snowboarding wedding!
Both Marah and Jesse wanted to spend most of their wedding day on the slopes, but they also knew that they wanted a ceremony with their closest family and friends. We started by picking their ski resort first. I sent them a list of Colorado’s resorts with photo examples so they could see what their day could look like. Ultimately, they chose Copper Mountain! Copper Mountain is definitely one of my favorite ski areas in Colorado. The views are incredible, there are so many beautiful spots for photos, and it is great for all skill levels. It is also conveniently located near Frisco, Dillon, and Silverthorne, so there are a lot of great options for dining and lodging.
After deciding on Copper Mountain for their snowboard wedding, we needed a place for their ceremony. Marah really wanted to be able to have her father walk her down the aisle. I knew the perfect spot near Copper Mountain, the Lake Dillon Pavilion! The Lake Dillon Pavilion is reservable from May through September, but first usable on a first come first serve basis in the winter time. Therefore, we had a few backup options in case someone else was using it that day. However, it all worked out and they had the area all to themselves!

Getting Ready
Marah and Jesse started their day getting ready at a hotel in Frisco, CO. Marah chose to work with Wild Brides Backcountry for her hair and makeup. The best part about working with the Wild Brides Backcountry team is that they stay with you all day to help with hair and makeup touchups! This is especially valuable for a ski elopement or wedding when you are more likely to want some fixes to your hair. While Marah got ready with her friends and family, Jesse got ready in a separate room with his. They both had cute and personal details to make the day special. Marah brought fantasy books for bridesmaid “bouquets”, and Jesse used guitar picks as boutonnieres. Another special touch was that Jesse’s ring even had a guitar string built into it!
After getting ready, Jesse had a first look with his mom, and Marah with her dad. These were both such special moments before we headed out for their ceremony at Lake Dillon Pavilion.

Lake Dillon Pavilion Ceremony
Lake Dillon Pavilion has some of the best views of Lake Dillon and the Tenmile Range mountains! If you want a ceremony with guests in Summit County near multiple ski resorts, this is definitely the place to go! Copper Mountain, Keystone, and Breckenridge, are all close by, so you can have your ceremony at this gorgeous Pavilion before hitting the slopes at any of those awesome spots!
All of Marah and Jesse’s guests sat at the picnic tables provided at the Lake Dillon Pavilion, and it was time for the ceremony! Their wedding party all walked down the aisle, and then it was time for Marah and her dad. Jesse had not seen Marah yet, so he got very emotional when he saw her walk down the aisle!
The ceremony was filled with love and laughter. Marah and Jesse both read heartfelt vows that they had written on scrolls! After exchanging rings and their first kiss as husband and wife, they sealed the deal with some fireball shots! It’s always so fun when couples add their own touches to their special day!

Pre-slopes portraits
Before heading out to ski, we took some group and wedding party photos, as well as bride and groom portraits. A really fun part of their wedding party photos is that all of the groomsmen were already in their snowboard and ski boots!

Hitting the slopes for some Colorado snowboarding wedding fun!
After enjoying the views at Lake Dillon, it was officially time to hit the slopes! Marah and Jesse rode the free shuttle at Copper Mountain to Center Village. There, they met up with all of their friends who wanted to join them for some ski laps! We rode the gondola for some cute snuggly photos and then made our way to the top of the mountain for the best mountain-top views! Copper Mountain truly has some of my favorite views of all of Colorado’s resorts! After some posed photos with their snowboards and custom “bride and groom” beanies, it was time for some action!
Marah and Jesse both crushed it down the mountain in their wedding attire! Marah even had special straps sewn into her dress so she could hold it up while she snowboarded down. After a few laps, we made our way to another part of the mountain so they could get a photo on the ski lift with their “just married” sign. It was the perfect end to the ski part of their day! But the fun was not over yet!

Reception
After skiing and snowboarding, Marah and Jesse met back up with all of their guests at Highside Brewing in Frisco. There they had a nice reception with tasty food, drinks, and live music! Not only did they have a band playing, but the two of them joined the band for one song, Noah Kahan’s, Stick Season! Marah and Jesse play in a band together, so they decided to make that a fun part of their day as well! They truly made their day all about their relationship together, which is the best way to celebrate your marriage in Colorado!
Congratulations, Marah and Jesse!
