Ciera and Simon | Blue Lakes Wedding Session near Breckenridge Colorado

Ciera and Simon got married at Willow Ridge Manor in Morrison Colorado. You can check out the blog about their wedding day here! They decided they also wanted photos in the mountain after their wedding! They wanted to get adventurous in their wedding attire and enjoy the time with their two dogs, Ronin and Sheba. So, we headed out near Breckenridge, CO for a Blue Lakes Wedding Session!

Even if you are planning a more traditional wedding, you can absolutely hop back into your wedding attire for a post-wedding adventure session. I would definitely recommend a post-wedding adventure session if your venue isn’t as close to some of the epic mountain views that you really want in your photos. Plus, what better reason to put back on your wedding dress or suit another time?!

The Session!

Blue Lakes is a popular location outside of Breckenridge, Colorado. Of course it’s popular because it is absolutely stunning! One thing to note is the road up is a dirt road and I would recommend a car with clearance to get up there. You also can not drive up to the upper lake, so if you want photos there, be prepared for a short hike!

We started Ciera and Simon’s session as the sun was dipping behind the mountains. Together with their pups, we walked around the shore of the lower lake. After some photos down here, we made our way up the path to the upper lake. This is where the true magic really started to happen! The Colorado sunset colors certainly did not disappoint. It was beyond beautiful as the clouds went from orange to pink! We all had the best time together!
