Colorado Ski Wedding

Colorado Ski Wedding

Paige and Konrad | A lakeside ceremony and turns on the slopes were the setting for this beautiful Colorado ski wedding!

Paige and Konrad’s love story began thanks to skiing, so it was the only way that seemed right to celebrate their wedding day. Their first official date was at Vail. Then they became “boyfriend and girlfriend” while skiing at Winter Park! Since skiing is their thing, they decided to have the perfect Colorado Ski Wedding!

Copper Mountain is the ski resort they chose to go skiing on their wedding day. But first they wanted a ceremony with their closest friends and family. So, we planned a gorgeous ceremony at the Lake Dillon Pavilion. The Lake Dillon Marina Park Pavilion is a great location for a ceremony with a stunning mountain backdrop, any time of year! In the winter months, between November and through the end of April, it is a first-come, first-serve location. So, if you choose to have your wedding here in the off season when reservations are not required, be sure to have a back-up location in case someone else is using it when you arrive!

Lake Dillon is not too far from a lot of Colorado’s ski resorts. This includes Copper Mountain, Keystone, Breckenridge, and Arapahoe Basin. Therefore, if you want a stunning ceremony, with quests, before you hit the slopes on your wedding day, this is a wonderful option.

If you are thinking about incorporating your love of skiing into your Colorado wedding day, let’s chat!

The Ceremony

Paige and Konrad’s wedding day started with all of their friends and family gathering at Lake Dillon Pavilion. It was the perfect spring day in Colorado with warm temperatures and not a single cloud in the sky. When you choose a spring day for your ski wedding in Colorado, you never know what you might get, so Paige and Konrad sure did get lucky! Their friends and family helped set up the picnic tables at the pavilion to create an aisle for their ceremony. Then, Paige’s dad and sibling, walked her down the aisle where Konrad eagerly awaited. Their ceremony was filled with tears, both from laughter and all of the emotion. After they said their “I-dos” and shared their first kiss as husband and wife, it was time to go hit the slopes!

Getting Ready to Hit the Slopes!

We made our way to Copper Mountain to enjoy the rest of the day skiing. When you come to Copper Mountain, make sure to make parking reservations in advance. Or, you can also park in the free lot (Alpine Lot) and take a shuttle. Paige and Konrad put their ski boots on in the parking lot. Then we were ready to walk over to the ski lifts. I love that they got ready for the ski day, just as they would have on any other ski day together!

Colorado Ski Wedding at Copper Mountain

As we made our way through the lift line, everyone around us was so excited to see a bride and groom on skis. Even the lift attendant had to stop and ask if they had just gotten married! One of my favorite things about ski weddings and elopements is how excited everyone on the mountain gets. So much joy for the newly-weds!

Copper Mountain has so many beautiful spots for photos. We spent the rest of their day skiing around and exploring the mountain. We got pictures with stunning views, snuggling on the lift, and of course some fun action shots! I even made Paige and Konrad spray me with snow for their final run! Ski weddings are the best, you in?!

Congratulations, Paige and Konrad!
