A beautiful wedding day in Rocky Mountain National Park started with photos at 3M curve, followed by a Sprague Lake elopement ceremony, and a picnic in Moraine Valley! | Michelle and Adam
I helped Michelle and Adam plan the most incredible day starting with Rocky Mountain National park for their private Sprague lake elopement, and ending with a reception with their family and friends back in Boulder!
Rocky Mountain National Park is such a stunning location for an elopement or microwedding. In order to have a ceremony in the park, you do need to apply for a $300 wedding permit. You can get more information about wedding permits in the national park, here. There is a list of sites where you can have a ceremony within the park. Sprague Lake is definitely one of my favorites! At Sprague Lake, you can have up to 15 guests in the summer and up to 30 in the winter. Definitely make sure to apply for your permit early! They are becoming more popular and selling out faster each year. In particular, summer and fall dates book out a year in advance!
If you want to elope at Sprague Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park, I would love to help you plan out an awesome day! Let’s chat!
Getting Ready and First Look
Michelle and Adam started their Colorado elopement day getting ready in Estes Park. They had the sweetest details, including a custom wine box! Once they were all ready, they had their first look by the house before we headed into Rocky Mountain National Park. Adam also helped Michelle put on sunscreen so she would not burn in the Colorado sun!

3M Curve Photos in Rocky Mountain National Park
Before heading to Sprague Lake, we decided to make a little stop at 3M Curve for some couples portraits! 3M Curve is another spot that you can get a permit for a ceremony. Michelle and Adam wanted to explore as much of the park as possible on their elopement day! The sun was shining and the weather was perfect!

Sprague Lake elopement ceremony
Finally, it was time to meet up with their officiant, Ceremonies with Lisa. Together, we walked over to Sprague Lake for their ceremony. It was a beautiful and heartfelt ceremony filled with happy tears and laughter. They read their vows to one another, exchanged rings, and shared their first kiss as husband and wife. After making it official, Olivia and Michael jumped for joy with their marriage license. They were married!!!
After their ceremony, we walked around the lake some more to enjoy the scenery and take some more photos. We were greeted with the best surprise wedding crasher ever, a moose! Sprague Lake often has a moose around, and we were all so excited to have a moose be a part of Michelle and Adam’s day!

Moraine Valley Picnic
To end the first part of their wedding day in Rocky Mountain National Park, Michelle and Adam had a picnic in Moraine Valley. There they enjoyed lunch and Michelle surprised Adam with custom fortune cookies! It was a perfect morning, before we headed into Boulder for the second part of their wedding day. I will share more about that soon!

Congratulations, Michelle and Adam!
