Sprague Lake Sunrise Proposal

Sprague Lake Sunrise Proposal

Rocky Mountain National Park was the perfect setting for a beautiful surprise with a Sprague Lake sunrise proposal! | Anna and Rachel

Anna reached out to me to plan a surprise proposal to Rachel in Rocky Mountain National Park. With my help, she created the most special moment for this Sprague Lake sunrise proposal! After talking over options, Anna decided that a sunrise proposal would be perfect. At Sprague Lake, when the sun rises, it illuminates the mountains and creates the most amazing alpenglow! Sprague Lake is one of those locations that is both stunning at sunrise and sunset.

Because we were entering the park for sunrise in the Bear Lake corridor, we needed to secure our timed entry permits. When entering the Bear Lake corridor in Rocky Mountain National Park, timed entry starts at 5 AM, so unless you enter before 5 AM, you will need a permit. Any other part of the park that is not in the Bear Lake corridor, you can enter up to 9 AM before securing a permit.

Sprague Lake is a perfect spot for a proposal, because it is a short walk around the lake to the dock that overlooks the beautiful mountains. If you don’t want to hike for your proposal, this is one of my favorite spots! Do keep in mind it can get busy here and I definitely don’t recommend a weekend proposal in this location.

If you want to plan a surprise proposal in Rocky Mountain National Park, I would love to help. Let’s chat!

Sprague Lake Sunrise Proposal Moment

Anna and Rachel’s morning started nice and early the morning of their proposal. Anna convinced Rachel to stop at Sprague Lake to watch the sunrise before they continued on for their hiking plans from the Bear Lake Trailhead. Little did Rachel know, she would be engaged before they started their morning hike!

I hung out by the dock, ready to capture the moment that Anna proposed. Just as she got down on one knee, the sky started to turn pink. It was so incredibly beautiful! Rachel was so surprised and they were both so elated!

Anna also asked if I could bring a bouquet of flowers for Rachel. She told me she would love a wildflower inspired bouquet. She also sent me photos of a Trader Joe’s bag wrapping the flowers. I worked hard to create the bouquet from her inspiration photos, and I think I succeeded! If you want to make your proposal even more special, I am always happy to help you with the surprise and bring flowers for your partner.

Sprague Lake Engagement Photos

After Anna and Rachel soaked in the moment, it was time for some photos around the lake. The sun continued to rise and created the most beautiful alpenglow I may have ever witnessed at Sprague Lake! These two were all giggles during their whole session and their love for one another just filled my heart. I took a photo of the two of them dancing which eventually they turned into a tattoo!!

We spent the rest of the time together taking in the scenery before Anna and Rachel went to do their first hike as an engaged couple!

Congratulations, Anna and Rachel!
