Details and Getting Ready
To start their elopement day, Katherine and Jon got ready in the most beautiful house rental. The views from the backyard were amazing, with the Tenmile mountain range visible and of course the changing aspen trees! Their details and florals were so perfect. I also gathered some leaves from outside to add to fall vibes they wanted in their elopement day.
I was in love with Katherine’s ring, but I think my favorite detail may have been Jon’s cuff links that had their dogs engraved on them! After some photos of their details, I hung Katherine’s dress on the huge window facing the mountains and golden trees. The lace caught the light so beautifully. After Jon got dressed, his mom pinned in his boutonniere. Then, it was time for Katherine to get in her dress. Her mom helped her with all the buttons and then it was time for the first look!
First Look
Katherine and Jon could not have had a better spot for their first look. And to think, it was right in the backyard of the house rental! Jon enjoyed the view while he anxiously waited for Katherine. When he turned around, the smile on his face said it all! After taking in the moment, we all got ready to head to the ceremony location.
A Breckenridge Fall Elopement Ceremony
The ceremony was held at Sapphire Point Overlook. Even a few chipmunks decided they wanted to be a part of Katherine and Jon’s wedding day! Once all of their guests were at the ceremony spot, Katherine and Jon walked down the “aisle” through the trees together. This was such a special moment. I loved that they decided to break tradition and walk down as their family and friends all watched. They read the sweetest vows to one another, exchanged rings, and shared their first kiss as husband and wife. It was such a stunning ceremony and the weather held out long enough to get through family photos!
Sapphire Point Overlook Portraits
Everyone was so excited for Katherine and Jon! After taking photos with their guests, we took some couples portraits before it started to rain. It didn’t matter though. Nothing was going to stop these two from having the biggest smiles on their faces all day! We took some photos with clear umbrellas. Katherine joked that moody weather is her favorite, so of course they would get some rain on their wedding day. I personally loved how all of the colors popped in the cloudy weather.
Brewery Fun!
To escape the rain for a little bit, we headed over to Breckenridge Brewery for some celebratory beers. It was very important to Katherine and Jon that they made time in their day for just the two of them. We would meet back up with their family and friends for dinner. After ordering their drinks, we went to the top floor of the brewery and they had the space all to themselves! They signed their license to make it official and then just enjoyed being together on their special day. Before we headed, Katherine and Jon bought some shirts. They wanted to have a fun memory from hanging out at a brewery in their elopement day.
Aspen grove: the perfect location for a Breckenridge Fall Elopement
After hanging out at the brewery, we headed to one of my favorite spots along Lake Dillon’s shore. There is a perfect aspen grove there for those quintessential Colorado fall photos! Katherine and Jon had so much fun, dancing and jumping around through the trees. I love how happy they are together!
Ending the night with coffee, dinner, cake, and dancing!
We originally planned to stay on the lakeshore to watch the sunset, but it started to rain very heavily. So, Katherine and Jon decided that they wanted to go to Starbucks instead. This was honestly such a fun and spontaneous decision and what I love about full day elopements. It really gave them the time to just do what felt right in the moment. After sipping some coffee, we headed over to Bistro North for dinner. This meal was beyond delicious! Finally, we all headed back to the house rental for cake and dances. Katherine and Jon had their first dance while everyone comfortably watched from the couches. What a fun way to end your wedding day! No shoes, no stress, and just surrounded by the people you love!
Congratulations, Katherine and Jon!
