Skiing and celebrations on this perfect day for a wedding at The Aerie at Copper Mountain! | Staci and Cody
A big part of Staci and Cody’s relationship involves adventuring together! Many of these adventures include skiing. With skiing being such a large part of their relationship, they decided to have their wedding at the Aerie at Copper Mountain!
The Aerie is a great summer wedding venue at Colorado’s beautiful ski resort, Copper Mountain. But if you still want some snowy scenery, you can also get married in the late spring and have a chance to hit the slopes on your wedding day! Your guests will get to ride the gondola to this stunning mountain lodge at 11,000 feet! The Aerie is truly a perfect wedding venue if you want to combine a traditional wedding with some skiing! And that is exactly what Staci and Cody did! With my help and the help of their wonderful planner and coordinator, Weddings by Jay, Staci and Cody had the best ski wedding!

First Look
We started Staci and Cody’s wedding day with their first look at the covered bridge in Copper Mountain’s Center Village! Cody got quite emotional when he saw Staci. After their first look, it was time to get ready to hit the slopes. Staci and Cody really wanted to get some ski runs in before their ceremony, so of course we made that happen!

They put on their ski boots and met up with friends at the base of the gondola. From there, we all rode up together and took the Excelerator lift to go to to the top of the mountain for even more epic views! Staci and Cody had a blast skiing with their group of friends. It was such a cool part of their wedding day! After some photos with friends, Staci and Cody skied a lap just the two of them. We got some great lift photos and of course those awesome ski action photos as well! It was a beautiful spring skiing day in Colorado!
Wedding Party Photos
After skiing, we headed back down to the Aerie lodge for some photos with their wedding party. Staci and Cody had a really fun group ready for a good time!
The Details
After wedding party photos, we made some time for details photos before the ceremony. Of course I had to take a few photos with their ski boots and beautiful bouquet! Wishflower Farms made both the reception and ceremony spaces look gorgeous! Staci and Cody also had the coolest welcome sign that included the mountain scenery and gondola. The Aerie is a stunning reception venue with beautiful chandeliers and the absolute best mountain views! If you want a wedding venue that is all about the mountains, then I highly recommend a wedding at the Aerie!
Wedding Ceremony at the Aerie at Copper Mountain
Soon enough, it was time for the ceremony! Ceremonies at the Aerie can be held on their covered deck during ski season. In the summer, you can have your ceremony on the deck or at the Aerie Gazebo with the best mountain views! The ceremony started with guitar playing by DJ, Aisle Finesse. Even though Cody had already seen Staci, he got even more emotional when he saw her walking down the aisle with her parents. It was just the sweetest moment! Their vows to one another were so special. Laughs and tears were had by all! After their beautiful ceremony, we took some family photos and everyone enjoyed cocktail hour inside.
Sunset Couples Portraits
During dinner, we snuck out for some bride and groom sunset portraits. Copper Mountain’s scenery and a colorful sky certainly did not disappoint! If I am photographing your wedding, be prepared to make some time for sunset photos. In my opinion, they are a must!
Reception at the Aerie at Copper Mountain
Finally, it was time for the rest of the night’s events. This started with toasts by both Staci and Cody’s dads and toasts from their best man and maid of honor. There was definitely a common theme to everyone’s speeches. This included hiking, skiing, and a favorite of Staci’s, huskies! After speeches, Staci and Cody shared their first dance as husband and wife. Following their first dance, Staci danced with her dad and then a very heartfelt dance with her mom and grandma! Finally, Cody danced with his mom before it was time for everyone to get out on the dance floor!
It was a night of fun with lots of dancing, conga lines, and even limbo! Staci and Cody’s guests helped make their wedding celebration extra memorable! At the end of the night when everyone left, Staci and Cody shared a final dance just the two of them in private. Special moments like that are what making your wedding day about you as a couple is all about. Staci and Cody surely knew how to do that with the most perfect ski wedding day!
