Locations for Colorado Elopement with Guests

Locations for Colorado Elopement with Guests

Are you dreaming of a Colorado elopement, but still want all of your closest family and friends to be there for your special day? There are plenty of great locations for a Colorado Elopement with guests! Though including guests in your elopement or intimate wedding for an outdoor ceremony will certainly limit the list of options, there are still beautiful spots where you can include more people. Here are just a few of my favorites! Feel free to reach out for some of my less popular locations as well!

List of Locations for Colorado Elopement with Guests

  • Rocky Mountain National Park
  • Sapphire Point Overlook
  • Maroon Bells Amphitheater
  • Sunrise Amphitheater
  • Halfway House
  • Garden of the Gods
  • Telluride Locations
  • House rentals that allow events

Rocky Mountain National Park

Capacity: 15-30

Rocky Mountain National Park is such a beautiful location for a quintessential Colorado elopement! In order to get married within the park, you need to reserve a permit for a specific ceremony site for $300. You can check out more information about weddings in Rocky Mountain National Park here. There are various ceremony locations that have different capacities for the number of people, so keep that in mind when choosing a spot. Some of my favorites include Sprague Lake, 3M Curve, and Lily Lake. Be sure to keep in mind the parking limitations in some of these locations! Most sites within the park do not allow any chairs, setups, or fixtures like arches. Finally, if fur babies are on your guest list then this is not the place for you!

Sapphire Point Overlook

Capacity: 35

Sapphire Point Overlook is one of my most popular locations to photograph and for a good reason! Undoubtedly the mountain views are stunning and the proximity to so many accommodations and restaurants makes it a popular choice for small weddings with guests including the furry ones! As long as you purchase a $120 permit for a specific timeslot, you can have your ceremony at Sapphire Point Overlook! If you want to bring in chairs or any fixtures like arches through a commercial service, they must have their own permit!

Maroon Bells Amphitheater

Capacity: 50

Who would not want to get married in one of Colorado’s most photographed locations? The Maroon Bells Amphitheater offers the most stunning views of the iconic Maroon Bells and also has built in seating! In order to reserve a day here, a $200 permit is required. Reservations at this highly sought after location are released one year prior to any given date. So for example, if you want to get married on September 20, 2024, you need to set your alarm on September 20, 2023 to snag that spot because trust me they go very fast!

Sunrise Amphitheater

Capacity: 100

Sunrise Amphitheater is another great location that already has built in seating which makes it perfect for a Colorado elopement with guests! With views of Boulder, CO and the Flatirons, it is a perfect choice for a larger group while still maintaining the outdoor vibes of an adventure elopement! In order to have your ceremony here, you do need to reserve the site. You can do that at this link. The price of the reservations ranges from $100 – $400 depending on whether you are a Boulder resident and if you are reserving one hour or three.

Halfway House

Capacity: 49

Another great location in Boulder for a ceremony with guests is Halfway House. With a smaller guest capacity than Sunrise Amphitheater, it makes for an even more intimate feeling ceremony. Similar to Sunrise Amphitheater, the cost of reserving this ceremony location ranges from $50 – $275 depending on how many hours you reserve and whether or not you are a Boulder resident. I love the sideview of the Flatirons at this location!

Garden of the Gods

Capacity: 25-50

Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs is perfect for elopement ceremonies with guests if you want to avoid permit costs. However, because there is no permit required, this does mean that you can’t guarantee access to your desired spot. Everything is first-come-first-serve and you will almost certainly have hikers and tourists walking by during your ceremony. If this doesn’t bother you or if you are willing to have a mid-week sunrise ceremony with less crowds, then this stunning location is perfect for you! There are various dedicated ceremony locations where you can include guests. These spots range from capacities of 25-50. Some of these include Jaycee Plaza, Sentinel Plaza, and Three Graces Plaza. You can check out more information about how to elope in Garden of the Gods here!

Telluride Locations for elopements with guests

Capacity: 45-250

Telluride has some beautiful locations that can accommodate larger group sizes. While these locations are very scenic, because they have larger capacity than a lot of these other outdoor ceremony locations, they can definitely be more expensive, but trust me, the views are so worth it. The San Sophia Overlook is one of these incredible spots! It has a capacity of 250 people. You can reach out to 970-728-7447 or weddings@tellurideskiresort.com for quotes on using this venue. An additional gorgeous venue near Telluride is Alta Lakes Observatory. This place is seriously a dream! If you have a guest count of 45 or less, you absolutely need to check it out!!!

House rental locations for Colorado elopement with guests

If you’re wanting something truly private for your intimate wedding, then one of the best locations for a Colorado Elopement with guests is a private house that allows events! Although it can be a little more work to find an Airbnb or VRBO rental that allow events, they are certainly out here and can offer stunning scenery from their backyards! With these rentals, you can enjoy both your ceremony and reception all in one place with all of your guests. Some of these rentals even have large enough capacity to house your guests if you would like. If this sounds like something you are interested in, reach out and I can certainly help you research some of these rentals!

Thank you so much for including capacity limits! This is so important for couples to know when planning their day especially since many popular locations aren’t suited to more than 10!
